Mr. Jason Webster

Jason Webster has served as a dedicated educator and leader for more than two decades. He earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and later completed an Educational Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.

Mr. Webster began his teaching career in 1998 at Richard Yoakley School, where he taught until 1999. From 1999 to 2008, he continued his work in the classroom as a teacher at Halls High School. His leadership journey began in 2008 when he was named Assistant Principal at Halls High School, a position he held until 2012. He then served as Assistant Principal at the L&N STEM Academy from 2012 to 2014.

In 2014, Mr. Webster became Principal of his alma mater, Gibbs High School, where he continues to serve. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to student success, school growth, and creating a supportive learning environment that empowers both students and staff.

Jennifer Sullivan

Freshman Academy Principal

Jennifer Sullivan has dedicated more than three decades to education, serving as both a teacher and administrator in multiple states. She earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Michigan State University in 1991 and a Master of Education in Administration from Chapman University in 1995.

Ms. Sullivan began her career in 1992 as a Band Director in Lompoc, California, before teaching music in Walhalla, North Dakota, from 1995 to 1997. She continued her career as a Band Director in Palm Bay, Florida, from 1997 to 2001 and later as a music teacher in Greeley, Colorado. From 2003 to 2013, she returned to Palm Bay to serve as Academy Director, combining her passion for the arts with her commitment to student success.

After relocating to Tennessee, Ms. Sullivan transitioned into school leadership with Knox County Schools, first serving as Assistant to the Chief of Staff from 2015 to 2016. She went on to become an Assistant Principal at Carter High School from 2016 to 2021 and then at Career Magnet Academy from 2021 to 2025.

In 2025, Ms. Sullivan joined Gibbs High School as an Assistant Principal. She is dedicated to fostering student achievement, supporting teachers, and building strong programs that prepare students for future success.

Dr. Melissa Walsh

Academy of Business, Health, and Professional Services Principal

Dr. Melissa Walsh has been an educator and school leader for more than 15 years, with a strong commitment to student success and academic excellence. She earned a Bachelor of Science in English Literature from Eastern Kentucky University, followed by a Master of Science in Secondary English Education from the University of Tennessee. She went on to complete an Educational Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University and later earned a Doctorate in Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands.

Dr. Walsh began her teaching career in 2010 as an English teacher at Carter High School, where she taught for five years. In 2015, she transitioned into school leadership as an Assistant Principal at West High School, serving until 2019. She then held the role of Assistant Principal at the L&N STEM Academy from 2019 to 2022 before continuing her leadership journey at Powell High School, where she served as Assistant Principal until 2025.

In 2025, Dr. Walsh joined Gibbs High School as the Principal of the Business, Health, and Professional Services Academy. She is dedicated to building strong relationships, promoting academic growth, and creating opportunities that prepare students for success in both college and careers.

Dr. Chad Turner

Academy of Technology, Engineering, and Design Principal

Dr. Chad Turner has devoted his career to education and leadership, serving students for over two decades. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from East Tennessee State University before pursuing graduate studies at the University of the Cumberlands, where he completed both a Master of Science in Instructional Leadership and a Doctorate in Instructional Leadership.
Dr. Turner began his teaching career in 2002 at Gresham Middle School, where he taught for seven years. In 2009, he joined the faculty at Karns High School, teaching there for a decade before transitioning into athletic administration. From 2020 to 2022, he served as Athletic Director at Karns High School, supporting both student-athletes and school programs.
In 2022, Dr. Turner joined the administrative team at Gibbs High School as Assistant Principal and currently serves as Principal of the Freshman Academy. He is committed to fostering academic success, personal growth, and a welcoming school culture that prepares students for the challenges of high school and beyond.

Melissa Graves

12th Grade Principal

Melissa Graves has served in a variety of roles in education, bringing more than a decade of experience in teaching and instructional leadership. She earned an Associate’s Degree from Pellissippi State Community College before completing a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from East Tennessee State University. She went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University and an Educational Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Tennessee.
Mrs. Graves began her teaching career in early childhood education, teaching Kindergarten for five years before moving to upper grades as a 5th Grade English Language Arts teacher for three years. She then served as an Instructional Facilitator for one year, followed by two years as a District Coach, supporting teachers across multiple schools. Most recently, she spent three years working in Special Education, further broadening her instructional expertise.
Now serving as an Assistant Administrator at Gibbs High School, Mrs. Graves is committed to supporting teachers, building strong student relationships, and fostering an inclusive and positive school culture.

Dustin Mynatt

Athletic Director

Dustin Mynatt has been part of the Gibbs High School community since 2016 and currently serves as Athletic Director, a role he began in 2022. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Tennessee and a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University. In 2023, he earned his Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) designation through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA). He also serves on the board of the Tennessee Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (TIAAA).

Mr. Mynatt began his career in education more than 14 years ago as a teacher of mathematics, history, and government in Knox County Schools. In addition to his classroom experience, he has an extensive background in athletics, having served as an assistant coach in football, boys’ track, and basketball, as well as head freshman boys’ basketball coach, assistant varsity baseball coach, and head junior varsity baseball coach. His dedication to both academics and athletics was recognized in 2021 when he was named Teacher of the Year by his peers.

Before entering school administration, Mr. Mynatt also gained professional experience in sports communications, serving in the Sports Information Office at the University of Tennessee from 2003 to 2006, where he was the primary communication contact for Swimming and Diving. His combined experiences as an educator, coach, and administrator continue to shape his leadership as he works to support student-athletes and promote excellence in Gibbs High School athletics.

Mrs. Ashley England

865 Academies Coach

Ashley England has dedicated her career to mathematics education and student success. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Pure Mathematics in 2011 from the University of Tennessee, followed by a Master of Science in Secondary Education from the University of Tennessee in 2012.
Ms. England began her career in 2011 as a student intern at Gibbs High School before teaching mathematics at Washburn High School from 2012 to 2016, where she also served as Department Chair. In 2016, she returned to Gibbs High School as a mathematics teacher and later took on the role of Lead Teacher, serving in both capacities until 2023.
In 2023, Ms. England was named Academy Coach at Gibbs High School. In this role, she works closely with teachers and students to support instructional practices, strengthen academic programs, and ensure student success within the academy model.
